One of the first people I met when I bought my old building downtown was David Ginsburg. I was immediately engaged and welcomed into the DCI community. Their work goes way beyond safe and clean - they are the best cheerleaders for our downtown business district. I am involved as the NE Sector Co-Leader and get to know the people who really care and make a difference in our community. In the five years we have had our building downtown, I have seen the city transformed into a vibrant place where people want to conduct business and have a good time. Greensource Cincinnati has benefited from this association as our neighborhood is kept safe and clean and our neighbors at DCI help to make this possible.
-Ez Housh, Owner Greensource Cincinnati
United Way of Greater Cincinnati works to advance the common good for all in our community. We partner in every sense of the word with companies and organizations throughout the community, mobilizing all to create positive change in the building blocks for a better life -- education, income and health. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable and when people have good health. We also know the importance of thriving, vital neighborhoods, both for those of us who live here and the people who visit. DCI, with its Ambassador program, helps create such an environment in our Downtown neighborhood. It takes everyone in the community working together to create lasting change. Join us. You can Give, you can Advocate, you can Volunteer. That’s what it means to LIVE UNITED. Find out more at uwgc.org.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, I am thrilled to see the new energy and enthusiasm for Downtown, from The Banks to the Horseshoe Casino, Over the Rhine to the Central Business District, Smale Riverfront Park to my personal favorite, Fountain Square and everything in between. I am constantly amazed at the variety of things to do and see Downtown, there truly is something for everyone, families, singles, 20 somethings and 90 somethings. Additionally, as a Realtor in the community, it is important for me to keep up with all the exciting changes, events and developments occurring Downtown, and naturally DCI is the perfect resource to stay “in the know” and connected. Looking forward to an exciting 2013 Downtown!

When I found out about
Downtown Cincinnati Inc, it was a no brainer for me to get involved. Downtown
is the community in which I reside, work & spend most of my time for
entertainment. Being a Realtor in my community, I am excited to talk about and
see all the changes that are brewing in the Downtown area. From events that are
happening on the square, to places to eat or night life, DCI is a great way to
stay connected with anyone interested in what's going on downtown. DCI is a
great resource to have at your fingertips.

At Silver Ladle we love fresh, wholesome food and since April, 2012 we’ve been sharing that with the downtown Cincinnati area, not only through our lunch service, but also through delivery and catering. Our business is supported by a loyal base and we appreciate every new face we see. With the weather cooling down, our huge soup selection has become a favorite for many downtown diners. It’s important for us to be aware of things that are going on downtown, other new businesses that are moving in and opportunities that we have. DCI is a great resource for any business owner in the downtown Cincinnati area.
The Cincinnati Symphony and Pops Orchestra is proud to call Downtown Cincinnati its home for the past 117 years. Cincinnati has a rich musical history evident to all who visit our city’s vibrant center. The Orchestra is the hub of this musical activity with over 130 performances every year. Part of the Orchestra’s mission statement is to enhance the cultural vitality and quality of life in the region. CSO and Pops performances are more than just about great music – they add joy, fervor and meaning to the Greater Cincinnati community. And there is no better place to nurture this passion than in the heart of our region.
The 5th Street Gallery, your downtown art gallery run by local artists, is honored and excited to be an integral part of the rejuvenation of Downtown Cincinnati. From the first month we opened our doors (before we even knew what DCI was) we were assisted by David Ginsburg. He immediately offered to email information to all his contacts about the new art gallery in town and spread the word every way he could. Since then, we have come to know several of the DCI Team and been continually supported by all of them in the individual roles they play in expanding the retail activity in downtown Cincinnati.
- Ober-Rae Livingstone, Owner, 5th Street Gallery

-Sarah Hunterman, Owner, The Soapbox Salon
I am a member and supporter of DCI for a variety of reasons. Anyone who is downtown on a consistent basis has seen the "orange" ambassadors. They are a stellar group, always keeping our city in immaculate condition. But if you stop to talk to them, they are engaging, helpful and courteous. That is only one of DCI's programs. They have been very instrumental in helping me navigate a troubled situation with the city's building department. David Ginsburg personally intervened on my behalf, making phone calls to the proper authorities, and following up until the matter was resolved.I have also worked with DCI on various marketing projects and blogs that helped give my restaurants great exposure.I am a proud member and avid supporter of DCI's mission.

For too long the Cincinnati Masonic Center, home of Scottish Rite Masonry in Cincinnati, has lumbered on Fifth St as a big mysterious building. Recently we have opened our doors by welcoming the public inside to enjoy our unique architectural magnificence. In doing so, we felt it necessary to get involved in Cincinnati. DCI was a logical choice due to its overall interest in the city with targeted sector groups comprised of members in our neighborhood. We hold quarterly Breakfast Lecture Series, free and open to the public with speakers engaged on topics that affect us in Cincinnati. Check us out!
- Robert W. Dumford, Executive Director, Cincinnati Masonic Center
Cincinnati’s urban renewal means that it’s an exciting time to own a business downtown. With so many new residents moving into the city center, as well as an increase in business and leisure tourism, there’s a palpable energy that wasn’t here even a few years ago. Everyone is invested in making downtown as successful and welcoming as possible. It’s rewarding to build relationships with all of our new neighbors, the process contributing to the growth and resurgence of Cincinnati. We’re proud to be part of DCI because we share the goal of making our city great.
-Carol Carl, Owner, Fabulous Frames and Art
There's
a marvelous energy and enthusiasm that is occurring downtown. The
Banks was a natural fit for CRAVE, and so was joining DCI. We are excited to be
part of the vibrancy of the city, the stadiums, new apartments and retail
tenants. We’re also big on being involved with the community, and joining DCI
was a great way for us to integrate our concept and business into the local
community.
- Emily Oscarson, Marketing Manager, CRAVE Cincinnati
In 2009 Allpro Parking, LLC saw an opportunity to bring our unique customer focused approach to Cincinnati. Inspired by the revitalization of Downtown Cincinnati, our Executive Team was interested in joining an organization to provide the greatest opportunity for involvement, immediately I suggested DCI. As members we have realized significant benefits. The DCI Ambassadors have assisted us in beautification efforts, maintaining customer safety, and brand awareness. We look forward to continuing our membership in DCI for years to come as we find true value in the relationship while growing our business in Cincinnati.
- Robb Rice, CCP, General Manager, AllPro Parking
I missed the vibrancy of downtown when I had moved out to the
suburbs because the demographic was suitable and the cost of space a
little less. So I moved my business to the Scripps Center at 312 Walnut.
Now I love to be able to arrange lunch meetings with friends and
business associates, and the huge variety of dining choices are second
to none. It's great to be able to walk to places to meet socially or
for business. My office in the Scripps Center has great amenities
including parking. I believe that my DCI membership is another way to
connect and help my business grow.

29 years ago this month my wife and I walked all over downtown Cincinnati scouting a location to start my dental practice. Search over when we saw the Gwynne Building. It symbolizes downtown’s appeal to us – beautiful architecture, a rich history, and a diverse population. I’ve had the pleasure of serving the dental needs of downtown workers and residents ever since. I’m so thankful DCI was formed and lives up to its mission “building a dynamic metropolitan center”. Downtown is on a roll and tha
t’s why we chose to invest in a total office renovation in 2007. Come visit us!

Downtown Cincinnati, Inc was
the first business group that Green Recycling Works joined after our
ribbon-cutting ceremony in October. They share our commitment to businesses and
organizations of all sizes that make up our vibrant downtown. Cincinnati is an
innovative city that continues to evolve with new trends and products. Our
pride in our city is reflected in the eyes of our international visitors for
the World Choir Games as they gaze on the new Washington Park or the charm of
Findlay Market, our busy Fountain Square or the handsome carriages around
downtown. Green Recycling Works is proud to be a part of the change as we build
a new model of reclaiming products as we reclaim lives!
-Matthew Long, Executive Director, Green Recycling Works
Palomino has been a proud member of the Downtown Cincinnati community since December of 1998. From the beginning, it was easy to see that Cincinnati is a town that values its center city, and wants to create a lively and diverse area, that will draw citizens from all over to eat, drink, shop, and play in ways that they can’t experience any place else in the city. Palomino joined Downtown Cincinnati Incorporated from the beginning, and has found it to be an invaluable partnership. DCI is dedicated to assisting in the marketing and longevity of all the businesses in the community, and maintains a tight network, that keeps Downtown as a favored destination that is unparalleled in the Cincinnati area. There are so many privileges to being a member, including personalized attention to help promote events, and so much more. Palomino Cincinnati will always remain members of DCI, without a doubt.
-Allegra Highsmith, Regional General Manager, Palomino Cincinnati
We’ve been downtown our entire careers, and chose to purchase our building here because we love the city and wanted to be part of it, helping revitalize it. We have seen it change, coming to life, and we love being part of the future! A critical part of its growth is people living downtown, which the recent development work has made possible. Cincinnati is an amazing city, and downtown is its heart.
–Donna Eby, Partner, Sanger & Eby
Renaissance! That is the word that comes to my mind when I think about downtown Cincinnati. I see this rebirth on every corner, in every new business that opens, and on every smiling face that I encounter. I’m a “Connecticut Yankee” in the Queen City’s court. I did not grow up here. So, DCI was THE critical catalyst for helping me see the attractive qualities of moving our company to Downtown Cincinnati. Every time I see one of DCI’s friendly, hard-working downtown Ambassadors, it reaffirms my decision and makes me proud to call Downtown Cincinnati our home.
– Todd A. Uterstaedt, President & CEO, Baker & Daboll, LLC-Executive Coaching
Both Cincinnati and LaVERDAD Marketing & Media benefit from the partnership with DCI. Cincinnati wins because DCI promotes continuous improvement of Downtown. LaVERDAD wins because of the partnership we’ve had with DCI for years as a member, serving on DCI’s small business committee, and helping DCI conduct the Downtown Perception Survey. Recently our very own Jason Riveiro, senior marketing, media & public relations manager was appointed to DCI’s board of directors. We’re all interested in a better downtown and with DCI’s leadership and commitment, it just keeps getting better.
-Mike Robinson, LaVERDAD Marketing & Media
The amazing energy of David Ginsberg and his team at DCI have transformed Cincinnati into a robust metropolitan center buzzing with excitement! Cooney Faulkner & Stevens is proud to be part of Cincinnati’s business community and embraces DCI’s mission of building a vibrant downtown, the core of our region. Cincinnati’s downtown is thriving, thanks to the efforts of DCI. We’re committed to supporting DCI’s mission of a clean and safe urban experience for people who travel downtown for work, as well those who come downtown to experience the best in entertainment, shopping, and dining. About 20% of all downtown employees ride Metro, and DCI has been a great partner in encouraging the use of transit.
- Terry Garcia Crews, CEO and General Manager of the Southwest Regional Transit Authority (Metro)
We are writing
today to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for the Downtown Cincinnati Inc. As a new apartment community, The Reserve at 4th and Race, reaching out into the community and developing relationships with businesses and potential residents is critical to our success. Through our affiliation with DCI we have made so many valuable contacts in the community that will ultimately help our new business become a success. We can’t thank DCI enough for their service to the community and for their support of local businesses.
- Emily Chal, CAM Community Manager, The Reserve at 4th and Race

I support DCI because downtown Cincinnati is important in my work and to my family. As a Realtor working with major Cincinnati employers, I provide introductory tours of Cincinnati, an important step in recruiting top talent and new residents. And clients are impressed. I’m proud to hear out-of-towners’ comments about downtown including “vibrant, clean, attractive”. Last week, after stepping off Amtrak at 2 a.m., I saw DCI in action, power-washing the sidewalks on Fifth Street! On a personal level, my wife Tiffiny and I, and our two young children, enjoy Reds games and events downtown. And we’re really looking forward to the Streetcar in 2014!
- David Dawson, Executive Sales Vice President, Sibcy Cline Realtors, Hyde Park and Metropolitan Office

ed became a member of DCI to support this group that has done so much for our beautiful city. Since DCI’s involvement, our downtown is cleaner, safer and alive with people enjoying each other and what the city offers. It’s so refreshing to see the city thriving with energy. The Downtown Ambassadors are the hallmark of DCI. They’re always on the go – picking up trash, giving directions, removing a panhandler, and even offering an umbrella, making our time in downtown a wonderful experience. We thank DCI for continuing to make our downtown safe, inviting, and exciting place to be.
- Donna S. Wirth, GOP Limited
As a corpo
rate member, US Digital Partners is constantly in awe of how much DCI accomplishes for our city center. They support and promote business large and small, and are one of the big reasons our company has become so committed to downtown. DCI has dramatically changed downtown Cincinnati for the better and we can't wait to see what's next. We encourage other companies to become members, get involved with a sector group, and start promoting our beautiful city.
- David Brecount, US Digital Partners
UrbanCincy.com was founded in 2007 with the goal of reconnecting
Cincinnatians with their urban core. Since that time tremendous progress
has been made, and much of that progress has been championed by
Downtown Cincinnati Inc. We decided to become a DCI member in 2011 due
to our ongoing growth and support of DCI’s mission to support and
strengthen the greater downtown area. We are especially excited to see
the friendly and helpful DCI Ambassadors extending into historic
Over-the-Rhine where so much of this recent progress has been made.
