Small businesses are the engines driving economic development. Over 78% of the businesses located in downtown Cincinnati are small businesses. As one of the organization's three core areas of service, Downtown Cincinnati Inc. (DCI) is committed to serving the small business community with an emphasis on minority and women-owned businesses. DCI, in partnership with the City of Cincinnati, Hamilton County, State of Ohio, the area Chambers of Commerce, among others, develop policies, procedures and practices that encourage small business growth in downtown Cincinnati.
How can DCI support you as a small business owner?
Connections to Government and Other Agencies
DCI has relationships with local and state leaders, as well as organizations that can assist you with issues that affect your small business.
DCI maintains a comprehensive database of available retail space through relationships with property owners and managers. We can help identify the right space for your business needs.
DCI facilitates Sector Group meetings among retailers, property owners, residents and other interested stakeholders to identify, discuss and resolve quality of life issues within a particular geographical boundary of downtown. Sector meetings are always attended by the President and CEO of DCI, as well as members of the Cincinnati Police.
Safe & Clean
DCI's Downtown Ambassador Program focuses on keeping downtown safe, clean and friendly for you and your customers. A team of 20 highly visible Ambassadors patrol the streets on foot, operate sidewalk sweepers and distribute maps and guides to visitors.
DCI promotes downtown businesses through our Life Happens Here marketing program, complete with website, advertising, collateral and special events.
Advise us of issues about retaining or attracting your small business
