Built in 1878 with private money raised from what is believed to be the nation's first matching grant fund drive, historic Music Hall contains one of the largest and most acoustically perfect concert halls in North America, the 3,397-seat Springer Auditorium. Home to performances by the Cincinnati Ballet, Cincinnati Opera, Cincinnati May Festival, and Cincinnati Symphony / Pops Orchestras, Music Hall also houses a variety of meeting and reception spaces, including the Ballroom (one of the largest event spaces in the city and home to the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ), Corbett Tower, and the Critic's Club. Music Hall is scheduled for a major revitalization to begin in May 2013.
