Business Climate and Conventions
Creating Downtown's Vibe

Downtown Climate & Employers

A downtown address gives employers an advantage by being centrally located in our three-state, fifteen county region with direct access to a robust workforce. Boasting 1.3 million workers and 2.1 million in total population, the Cincinnati-region is growing, and downtown Cincinnati is at the heart of this.

With major employers such as Procter & Gamble, Fifth Third Bank, Western & Southern, Kroger, Cincinnati Bell, and others, downtown Cincinnati not only offers an excellent Fortune 500 and Fortune 100 environment, but also a haven for small businesses. Over 630 shops, bars, restaurants, and services are located in downtown Cincinnati, with over 90% retail occupancy. The average rent per square foot is $19.5 and sales per square foot averaging $84.

According to Forbes, the Queen City is also one of the best places for startups, stating, "Manhattan has the nightlife. San Francisco has the lifestyle. But Ohio has both for a fraction of the price." For more information on Cincinnati's startups, please visit the STARTUPCINCY website.

Conventions & Duke Energy Convention Center

The Center can now accommodate 75% of the existing U.S. convention, conference and meeting market and boasts more than 300,000 square feet of meeting and exhibit space, 37 meeting rooms, including one of the largest ballrooms in the Midwest.
