Founded as the first Cincinnati Catholic parish in April 1819, this faith community has grown under various patrons, in two different locations, and in several sacred church buildings. Today, St. Francis Xavier parish is a legacy of those first communities of Catholic believers, now sponsored by the Jesuits (Society of Jesus) in the heart of the market place in downtown Cincinnati.

The Church building at 611 Sycamore St. is a registered historic site and the Parish has been an apostolate of the Jesuit Fathers since 1845. We invite you to join us in 2019 for several celebratory occasions and events.  This year we hope to “remember, rejoice, and reach out.”

The events in March are the next series of events following the Opening Ceremonies which occurred on Jan. 20, 2019. Watch the Opening Ceremonies!
