Saturdays in the City: What To Do in the Queen City on November 30

Nov 26, 2019

Thanksgiving week is here, which means you’ll hopefully have a long holiday weekend to enjoy!

Whether you’re looking to spend time with family, do a little shopping, or enjoy a good meal, Downtown Cincinnati is the place to be this Saturday. On November 30, you’ll be able to ride the Cincinnati Bell Connector for free. Don’t worry about paying for fare – just hop on the streetcar and ride to your next destination.

Need some inspiration for your Saturday in Downtown Cincinnati? Here’s what you should do:

Start your morning at Findlay Market! Need some inspiration on how to use that leftover turkey? Try Findlay’s Thanksgiving Leftover Eggrolls with Cranberry Dipping Sauce or some Roasted Pumpkin Seeds! Peruse Findlay’s dozens of vendors for your favorite items.

After shopping at Findlay Market, you’re probably going to be hungry for some brunch. Walk across the street to Jean Robert’s French Crust Café for a chocolate croissant and coffee or jump on the streetcar and head to Over-the-Rhine.

Hop off at Washington Park (stop and get some fresh air or visit Santa’s Workshop from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.), and walk down the block to Taste of Belgium. There, you can indulge in a Pumpkin Waffle and cappuccino, or order something hardier like the Goetta Hash. While you’re on Vine Street, you’ll be sure to find some good deals on holiday presents during Small Business Saturday. Across Over-the-Rhine, retailers and businesses will have the best deals on unique and locally made items that you’ll love to give as gifts.

If you’ve found something for everyone on your list in Over-the-Rhine, hop back on the streetcar and make your way to the Contemporary Arts Center. The CAC will get your creative juices flowing with the Makerspace: Let It Glow! Holiday STEAM Fair, running from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Create your own winter wonderland slime, a holiday card with working lights, a psychedelic snowflake and more. It’s fun for all ages.

Now that you’re in spirit, grab a drink and peruse the Shop Small Holiday Market at Igby’s at 4 p.m. Artists from Cincinnati will showcase some of their best work for you to buy while you sip on a craft cocktail.

Stay warm and get a reservation at one of Downtown Cincinnati’s best restaurants. Check out Sotto or Via Vite or go to one of the amazing restaurant options at The Banks!

End the night in the heart of the Queen City. Downtown Dazzle kicks off at Fountain Square at 5:30 p.m. You can skate the night away on the UC Health Ice Rink, presented by Fifth Third Bank, while a Rozzi Fireworks display lights up the sky!
